According to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), adults should do at least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) a week of moderate-intensity, or 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes) a week of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity, or an equivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity aerobic activity. Children and adolescents should do 60 minutes (1 hour) or more of physical activity daily.
Southern Therapy's Fitness, Wellness, and Prevention program is designed to help people of all ages and levels of fitness achieve their health and wellness goals comfortably and safely. This amazing facility is staffed and equipped to suit the individual needs of virtually every member.

Our professional staff's extensive knowledge of health conditions allows them to examine people of all ages and abilities and design safe and effective physical activity programs that help establish life-long habits of physical activity. For those who are overweight or obese or have a physical disability, Southern Therapy's professional team can perform an evaluation and devise safe exercise programs that increase strength and cardiovascular endurance, restore flexibility, and reduce pain when it exists.
Types of Programs
- Injury Prevention
As part of our service to you, your health professional will coach you on proper training techniques to prevent overutilization injuries. We have our professionals available to answer your health questions.
- Prescription Exercise
Following baseline fitness testing your healthcare professional can devise for you a custom exercise program that addresses all components of a comprehensive program. These programs may be done in our gyms, other local health clubs, or in the comfort of your own home.
- Pre-Rehabilitation
Individuals facing a surgical intervention may be placed in a program of exercise and fitness prior to the surgery. These programs have proven to reduce the cost and time of recovery following surgery.
- Post-Rehabilitation
Following surgery or formal rehabilitation many people desire to continue a formal program of exercise in our controlled and professional facility. These programs prove to be the perfect step down program to a continued recovery or a healthy lifestyle.

Our Wellness Center is located inside the Southern Therapy Services, Inc. Carrollton clinic. Located at 812 South Park Street. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
